13 months on the market.....(March 2008-April 2009), this stunning property was not showing at its full potential. Knowing there was something they could do to improve the odds of selling, the owners contacted Mark It Ready! Real Estate Staging and Home Sale Consultation Services.
Upon initial viewing of this property, I was impressed with the house itself, the online pictures did not fully show the true selling feature of this house which was the amazing, unobstructed views of the ocean.
The house was in excellent repair, very organized and clean, the type of property that an agent would deem "unnecessary to stage" or "not in need of further improvement or help to sell". More often than not, this situation is sadly not the case and properties can languish on the market for unecessary lengths of time.
I performed the initial consultation and assesment of the property and found there were some things that could be done to this property both inside and out to improve the presentation. The owners reviewed my detailed report, performed approximately 75% of the recommendations within a two week period, and within two weeks of making the changes they had 3 showings and accepted an offer for 97% of the asking price! My husband Eric and I have had our house listed since March 2008. We always knew there were small changes that could be made to make our home more appealing however our agent deemed them unimportant. We de-cluttered our home and tried to de-personalize it the best we knew how. We found ourselves one year later with little to no action on our home and began to wonder what we could do to change the buyer’s perception. We contacted Christa and had her come visit our home with a fresh set of "critical" buyer’s eyes.
